Pomona's governance framework ensures that our investments are aligned with thoughtful investment policies and provides accountability for the Investments Office to support the long-term financial health of the College.
Who Oversees the Endowment?
The endowment is managed with rigorous oversight by the Board of Trustees, which delegates investment responsibilities to the Investments Committee and the Investment Office.
Board of Trustees – Provides strategic oversight and ensures adherence to fiduciary responsibilities.
Investments Committee – Comprised of trustees with deep expertise, this committee reviews investment policies, approves new investments, and monitors portfolio performance.
Investments Office – Led by the Chief Investment Officer, this team manages the endowment's day-to-day operations and leads diligence on external investment managers.
Our Team
Pomona’s Investment Office is staffed by an experienced team of directors, analysts and operations professionals who care deeply about the College and its mission.
Dave has been with Pomona for more than a decade and was honored to be named the College's inaugural Chief Investment Officer in 2018.
Josh has held senior-level positions at university endowments, a multi-billion-dollar family office, a top 25 public pension fund, and a Fortune 90 insurance company.
Before joining Pomona, Ed held senior roles at global hedge funds and asset managers, focusing on investment selection and talent development. He began his career in investment banking and led diversification strategies at a major US pension fund.
Austin oversees investment administration, reporting, and communications. He has been with Pomona College for 10 years in various roles.
Mitch Polon has been in the Investments Office at Pomona College for over seven years in the role of Cash Manager.
Mitch joined Pomona's investment team in 2024 as a generalist, with focus in private markets.
Donna brings 35 years of experience with Pomona College in various roles. She has been with the Investments Group for over 20 years as the Endowment Administrator.
Rosemary serves as an Investment Operations Analyst, working with the operations team on the accurate accounting of investment records and investment performance.
